June 4th 1994 - President Clinton Visits Madingley
The above photograph shows President William Jefferson Clinton walking through the ranks of the Number two and the Number 66 Royal Air Force Squadrons in review.
President Clinton is escorted by Squadron Leaders Tony Galloway and Andrew Steele. Maj. Michelle Johanson serves as an US Air Force Aid.
President Clinton visited RAF Mildenhall before attending the Memorial ceremony held at Madingley American Cemetery in Cambridge, England.
Earle Aber Buried At Madingley
A US Army (USA) Honor Guard removes the flag draped casket, carrying the remains of US Army Air Corps, World War II Pilot, Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Earle Aber, during a graveside Funeral Service held at the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial at Cambridge, England, United Kingdom (UK). LTC Aber's remains were recovered from the River Stour (England) in 2000. LTC Aber was the pilot of a B17 that was accidentally shot down by British Anti Aircraft gunners on the night of March 4th 1945. The crew of B17 Tondalayo managed to bail out with the exception of LTC Aber and Co-Pilot 2nd Lt M.J Harper who remained aboard the aircraft when it impacted.
Ambassador Tuttle Visits Madingley American Cemetery
17th March 2006. The American Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Robert James Tuttle visited Madingley American Cemetery as part of a day long visit to Cambridge. Ambassador Tuttle was accompanied by Mrs Tuttle and Defense Attache Capt. Randy Duhrkopf (United States Navy).
